The Waiting Game

School is officially out for the summer and I am officially DONE! It was a very bittersweet day for me - on the one hand, SUPER excited to be finished with this school year; on the other hand, sad to be saying goodbye to my wonderful school family. I have seriously been so blessed the last two years working at Little Flock Preschool/Good Shepherd Christian Academy, and am convinced I have worked with the BEST people ever.

Now that the teaching chapter of my life has closed (at least for the foreseeable future), I am so very ready to begin the mommy chapter. As of this afternoon, I am playing the waiting game...no agenda to keep, no schedule to follow, just waiting for our little boy to make his appearance. And I couldn't be happier to be doing just that. I get to spend my time relaxing, enjoying the time off, and getting things done at my own pace. All the important stuff is ready for Evan now, so he can come anytime! Here are a few pictures of the nursery:




There are still a few finishing touches I'd like to add, but for the most part it's ready. What a relief! I never tire of walking into the room and imagining him in it as I look over every item that we've picked out or has been given to us. Every piece of furniture, every book, every accessory has been placed in his room with love, accompanied by dreams of him enjoying every bit of it one day. This mama's heart is pretty much bursting with anticipation, excitement, and gratitude when I think of how close we are to his arrival. Any day now!!
