Snow!!

Ah, the sight of snow out the window does this Michigan girl's heart good. I love seeing snow glistening on every tree branch, covering the dead brown grass with a blanket of white. It was wonderful watching that beautiful snow fall last night...unfortunately, the heaviest snow came during the evening rush. While the snow was amazing for me - giving me a FIVE day weekend (yes all my Midwest friends, they canceled school three days for 8 inches of snow :) ), it wasn't so great for Will...who spent 4+ hours stuck in horrendous traffic last night and had to go back out in it today. Poor guy.

In other news, we find out the sex of the baby on Tuesday!!! I am so excited to finally be able to call our baby something other than "it" or "baby". And since we already have names picked out it will be even more fun to start calling our baby by name. Picking names for this little one was pretty easy since we can only agree on one boy name and one girl name. I have a feeling it won't be so easy next time around...

This was taken last week at 18 weeks! Finally starting to display a bump :)

Top Ten

I thought I'd make a list of things that have surprised me the most about being pregnant so far...enjoy!

  1. How much advice you get once people know you're expecting...99% of which is welcome.
  2. How much I long for a baby bump...and not just a tummy that looks like I ate a little too much over the holidays.
  3. How overwhelming the thought that there's a BABY inside of me...wow.
  4. How terrified I am of labor...and how willing I am to consider doing it without medication.
  5. How absolutely exhausted I am...seriously, the word "fatigue" takes on a whole new meaning when pregnant.
  6. What a blessing it is to have close friends who have been through pregnancy recently...not only for the benefits of their experience but also for the benefits of their maternity wardrobe :)
  7. How incredible a tiny heartbeat sounds...best sound in the world.
  8. How easy it is to worry...and how much there is to worry about.
  9. How being pregnant has a way of completely taking over your whole body...bodily functions included (enough said).
  10. How much I appreciate the husband I have...minus the whole tendency-to-pass-out thing ;)
